- growing year
- This year started with a wet spring which delayed the growing season. The summer was cool and the canopies of the vines were leafed to expose the fruit, keep rot risk low, and help ripen the fruit. Suddenly in August a heat wave hit, and the grape skins were burned in many vineyards. Numerous hours were spent cutting out the burned berries while the fruit was still hanging on the vines. The meticulous work of hand-sorting the fruit once it was harvested was also performed, removing any unwanted berries that were missed.
