Inky ruby. Complex, very ripe bouquet of spicy red and dark berries, candied plum and smoked meat. Fleshy raspberry and blackberry liqueur flavors coat the palate and offer excellent depth, but also good energy. This actually comes across as elegant in spite of the massive, liqueur-like fruit. Picks up a wild, gamey quality on the long, clinging finish. This won't convince fans of restrained wine but those who gravitate toward big, assertively fruity pinots will go nuts for it.
